Winter has commenced for millions of vulnerable and displaced people around the world. For many less fortunate families living in makeshift housing or structures that do not keep out the harsh weather conditions. Sub-zero temperature occurs, severe sickness and even death are the outcome in many cases.
The harsh conditions and the ever-increasing threat of the coronavirus pandemic compounded with the shortage and lack of food supply adds to the increasing struggle facing the poor and the needy around the world. There is a need for urgent action and assistance that is required before the winter conditions deteriorate.
