The ongoing conflict in Syria has produced one of the largest, most critical humanitarian crisis in the century. Over 6 Million Syrian civilians have fled their home in search of safety elsewhere. What they seek however, isn’t always what they find. More than half of them are struggling, living in shelters and poorly constructed tents without adequate clothing, food, amenities or protection from the harsh weather.
This is where YOU can help. The Syrians have collectively put together a proposal that will save many lives and protect many children.
The project sets out to build small units in villages inside Syria, instead of constructing tents (which are not built to sustain harsh weather conditions nor are they designed to be used as permanent dwelling places- which is what these people need).
The Units will be made of concrete, so they will last for years. Each unit would consist of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. They will be constructed in a large space, close together, thus forming a small community to help keep them safe and close.
The cost of constructing ONE unit, fully furnished, is just $3,000 AUD. One unit can house up to 6 people (mainly widowed women and orphaned children) who otherwise may very well be destitute.
There are already three areas within Syria where construction of these units/villages can commence immediately:
- Construction of 60 Units
The money to construct these units has already been covered.
- Construction of 101 units
11 units have already been funded
Funds for 90 units remaining
- Construction of 150 units
Funds for 150 units remaining
Imagine, when aggregated, these villages will house up to 1, 866 people (consisting mostly of women and children) for many years, who otherwise may very well be homeless.
Support this amazing project and help provide shelter to a family so Allah will provide you with shade on a Day where there will be NO shade except His.
“Those who spend their wealth (in Allah’s Cause) by night and day, in secret and in public, they shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”
(Qur’an: Al-Baqara, 274)
Will YOU be of those who will spend in Allah’s Cause to provide women and children, orphans and widows a form of shelter that they can call home?
