Water is essential to all life on earth. Yet millions of people around the world continue to struggle and suffer due to water shortages. Around 785 million people worldwide (that is 1 in every 9 people) do not have access to safe water.
What is safe water?
Safe water is defined as water that is suitable for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene and meets the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for Drinking Water Quality Standards (WHO Guidelines) (civiconcepts.com).
Drinking polluted or unsafe water can result in extreme sickness and disease, such as vomiting, diarrhoea, dehydration, and skin rashes. When contaminated water is consumed for extended periods, it often results in death.
Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah said:
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what kind of charity is best?’
He said: ‘Providing drinking water.'”

For as little as $50, you can provide clean and safe water to families and children in communities who are either without a household water connection or access to safe water.
Al-Ihsan Foundation’s Water for Life Campaign aims to deliver and distribute clean, safe drinking water to those people who are without access to it. We provide safe water to people all over the world who otherwise would be consuming contaminated water.
